We have a young amazon who is an inspiration to many.
She dared to break out of the box, stood out and has placed herself on the pedestal of greatness.
Let’s meet Hibaq Ali Abyan who believes that “Right thinking for the African youth is to understand that we are not the future of tomorrow,but the best option for Africa now”
Hibaq was the First female Youth Chairperson for the opposition party in Somaliland, as well as one of the most followed youth politicians in Somaliland (Somaliland is a self-declared state for the last 27 years). She is also the co-founded of a youth organisation called Somaliland Next Steps, as well as most recently being appointed as the Secretary for West London Somaliland community organisation.
Hibaq has previously worked for the Ministry of public works and housing and UN in Somaliland. After Studying Architect, she is now one of the only Somali females working as a Construction technical manager for one of the UK’s leading construction companies. Hibaq also owns her own online business called Xarrago selling traditional Somali clothing.
In addition, Hibaq will also be running for a parliamentarian seat in the 2020 House of Representatives election in Somaliland.
